U6
U6 REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED
The U6 program is for players that turn 5 years old by August 1. The program will follow a modified academy style, with players having a volunteer coach and all teams will practice and play together twice a week. There will be a professional coach to run the sessions and ‘coach the coaches’. Sessions run from early September through October, twice a week.

U7-U9
REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED
The U7-U9 program is for players between 6 and 8 years old on August 1. Players at this level are assigned to small teams and compete in a South Seattle league that includes Mount Baker-Lakewood, Beacon Hill, Capitol Hill, and McGilvra. Teams typically practice twice per week, and play games at a local field on Saturdays. We use modified rules for small-sided soccer to maximize playing time and touches on the ball.

U10-U19
REGISTRATION NOW CLOSED
The U10-U19 program is for players between 9 and 18 years old on August 1. Teams in this program compete city-wide with other SYSA clubs. Practices are typically twice per week, and games are on Saturdays or Sundays at fields throughout the city. The league runs from the beginning of September to late November, with U11 and older teams eligible to take part in the City Tournament in November-December.

Discounts
Mount Baker Lakewood Soccer offers a number of ways to make the soccer season a little easier on the family budget.
Early registration discount $15
A $15 discount will be automatically applied to registrations completed prior to June 30, 2023.
Sibling discount $15
A $15 discount will be applied automatically to each sibling’s registration after the family’s first player is registered. This discount is in addition to any early registration discount.
Need-based scholarships
The club believes that soccer should be accessible to all families regardless of circumstances. We are pleased to be able to offer scholarships to families that require assistance. We will not be using a coupon code system this season. Rather, families can request financial assistance at time of registration by selecting that option instead of a payment type when registering players. Requests will be reviewed within a week and you will be notified of the result.

Interest-free payments
An option is available during registration to request that payments be made in three installments. Take advantage of this free option to spread out the costs over time: at checkout select Payment Plan from the drop-down menu, choose your Payment Method, and select “3 Installments” from Select Payment Plan Schedule.
2023-2024 age ranges
To identify the correct registration age group, look at a player’s month and year of birth in the chart provided. Players are welcome to play with an older team with coach and registrar approval. Players are not allowed to play on a younger team.

Registration guidelines
Returning players will be assigned to their existing teams from the previous fall season.
There are two exceptions to this general guideline:
When a parent requests their player not return to the previous team.
When it is necessary for the club to transfer players to provide an opportunity for all players to have a team.
New players are not able to select their team, and coaches are not able to select players for their teams (except that coaches’ children will be placed on the same team as the coach).
Players registering before the June 30 deadline have priority for placement on teams over late registrants, even if the former is a new player and the latter is a returning player. All team assignments are made at the sole discretion of the Registrar. Any disputes will be resolved by the club’s Registrar, President, and SYSA Commissioner.
Spring Registration is closed for 2023.
Spring Season is an 8 week season beginning in April, and is run and organized by SYSA. Teams play 8 small sided games on Sundays beginning in April. Current teams that played in the Fall ‘22 season my register. Individual players without a team may contact the registrar at MBL via the contact form above, and let us know of their interest. MBL may or may not be able to help place new players on teams for the season. All team and individual registrations are handled through the SYSA website. For more information please visit SYSA.
