Volunteer with us

Our club is entirely volunteer-run. All club coaches and administrators donate their time and expertise. Your help is needed to make sure that the Mount Baker-Lakewood Soccer Club can continue to provide opportunities for soccer to Southeast Seattle youth.

Volunteer opportunities

Complete the form below to volunteer for any of these positions or to get more details.

U6 Program Coordinator: Our youngest players learn the game during two 1-hour sessions a week in September and October where small groups of kids rotate among games that teach basic soccer skills. Skill sessions are volunteer-run and guided by our U6 Program Coordinator. You do not need to be a parent or have any soccer experience for this role, just an enthusiasm about the game that you want to share. The time commitment outside the 2 hours per week for those two months is minimal.

Coach: You don’t need to be a parent, or to have experience coaching. A fondness for soccer and an interest in helping young players develop is all you need to get started!

Join our board: The board currently has openings for a Registrar and a Community Outreach Director. Each typically takes less than 3 hours a week on average.

Be a coordinator: The club is looking for volunteers to serve as Coaching Coordinator and Social Media Coordinator. No experience is necessary, just a familiarity with soccer and an interest in helping your community. Each position requires less than 3 hours a week on average.

Referee: Technically, this isn’t even volunteering! Be your own boss. Set your own hours. Get paid to run around on a soccer field. Professional referees officiate Mt. Baker Lakewood and other SYSA games for ages U10 and up. It’s a great part-time job for a soccer player or fan, and is open to people 12 and up. More information is available from the Washington State Referee Committee.
